Relatives of elderly people in care or nursing homes may be paying fees unnecessarily, claims a local solicitor. Claire Davis, of Rubin Lewis O'Brien LLP, Cwmbran, says while relatives are frequently asked to provide additional money to meet residential fees, many may have just cause to dispute claims by their local council for what can, in many cases, amount to substantial contributions towards the cost of care for their love ones.

A business can show thousands of pounds in profit on paper based on the value of invoices raised, but until those invoices have been paid, there is a chance that a business may fail due to late payments resulting in reduced cash flow.
