Weekly surgeries
In order to improve communications between the town's residents and Usk Town Council, a new initiative of wee kly surgeries has been launched. People will be able to air concerns about town issues face to face with Councillors, in private, at the Sessions House. The surgeries will be held between 10am and 11am on the first and third Tuesday of each month, and between 7pm and 8pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
Appointments need to be booked by phoning the Town Clerk on 01291 673011, and appointments in their own home for elderly residents will be considered.
Usk's new town guide gives a list of all the council members and their contact numbers, and further information can be found on the town website: www.usktc.force9.co.uk/council.htm. The Council is also looking at adding an email facility on the website so that members can be contacted in this way.
Mayor Tony Kear said, "I welcome this new approach and was delighted to see such a positive approach from Councillors when this was first suggested."
