    Newport’s wall of fame

THE Friends of Newport Rugby Supporters Trust are offering a chance to provide a permanent part of the new buildings at Rodney Parade while raising much-needed funds for Newport RFC.

Engraved bricks will be built into the walls in or around the redeveloped stadium which carry a message of up to three lines of text whether it be a reminder of a special date, a memorial, or best wishes to somebody special.

The cost of each brick will be around £40 and FoNR are hopingto start selling them from the beginning of the coming season so that plenty of bricks are ready for construction in early 2009.

Final details of the location of the Wall of Fame are to be confirmed but customers will be kept informed. The trust plan to ensure that every player who has won an international capfrom Newport as well as every past captain will have a brick.

Order forms will be available from FoNR committee members and from the ticket office.

The Wall of Fame is just one of many FoNR projects in order to raise funds and recent projects include floodlight refurbishment, goal post repainting, clubhouse lounge bar refurbishment, training kit forNewport as well as helping to support a number of local junior sides.
