NEWPORT'S Le Pub hosts an evening of ska and reggae tomorrow night which kicks off at 8pm.

It features Make it Better Later, who Play Music Magazine likened to "The Pogues on a summer ska train", the up-and-coming Kali Mist and The ColourSound Experiment.

Kali Mist's biggest success was at the 2006 O'Neills Undiscovered Live Battle of the Bands competition, where they beat over 700 bands to reach the final eight and come second, the final being held at the Carling Academy in Islington, London, was hosted by Radio One DJ Colin Murray.

The ColourSound Experiment are a veritable Molotov cocktail of musical styles, influenced by artists The Beastie Boys, Stevie Wonder and The Super Furry Animals to name but a few.

Tickets cost £5 and are available from Diverse, Rockaway, In Exile and wegotticets.com
