    Pub attack sentence adjourned

SENTENCE has been adjourned on a 30-year-old Blaenavon man who attacked a customer in a pub.

Baden Lucas, of Giles Road, Blaenavon, pleaded not guilty to causing Stephen Ball actual bodily harm, but he admitted a charge of battery.

His plea was accepted by the prosecution at Newport crown court.

Mr Ball suffered a nose injury during an incident in the Castle pub Blaenavon on May 21, 2006.

Judge David Morris said there had been an unreasonable delay "for which there was no excuse."

He said that if there were substantial mitigating features it might be possible that a custodial sentence would not be passed.

Sentence was adjourned for reports and Lucas was remanded on bail.
